Abstract
2,3-Diphosphoglycerate, heretofore considered absent in avian erythrocytes, occurs in the erythrocytes of embryos to the extent of 4 to 5 micromoles per cubic centimeter of erythrocytes before hatching; it disappears from the cells within 8 days after the embryo hatches.Keywords
