Magnetization ofHg1xMnxTe

Abstract
The magnetization of Hg1x MnxTe for x values from 0.007 to 0.23 has been measured over a temperature range from about 2 to 25 K and in magnetic fields from 3 Oe to 40 kOe. The results for each x value can be well described by a modified Brillouin function with two fitting parameters and T0. The temperature dependence of the low-field susceptibility is proportional to Tα(x), where -1≤α(x)≤0. Models based on random-exchange interactions predict such a power-law dependence.
