Abstract
Of 264 garbage-fed hogs slaughtered in a period of 4 months at an abattoir in South St. Paul, Minnesota, 75 or 28.4% showed tuberculous lesions of the lymph nodes. Cultures were obtained from 47 of these; 35 proved to be avian type and 12 human type. The failure to demonstrate bovine tubercle bacilli indicates the effectiveness of the elimination of tuberculosis in cattle in Minnesota.
