THE EFFECT OF DENERVATION OF THE LIVER ON SECRETION OF BILE

Abstract

In 5 cholecystectomized dogs with biliary fistulas, bile secretion was about the same before and after denervation of the liver (a mixed meal producing the greatest, a protein meal marked, and fat and protein meals moderate and variable increase), indicating that increase in bile secretion after eating is not dependent on nerves to the liver.
