Abstract
A hitherto undescribed base, having the molecular formula C7H19N3, has been isolated from extracts of animal tissues. In occurence and constitution it is allied to spermine and has therefore been given the name spermidine. The structural formula of spermidine, proved by synthesis, is NH2. CH2. CH2. CH2. NH . CH2. CH2. CH2. CH2. NH2, i.e., [alpha]-([gamma]-aminopropylamino)-[delta]-aminobutane.This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
