Abstract
Although it has been demonstrated that PVP of very high molecular weight (K-87) is antigenic in man, these findings have little bearing with regard to the consideration of PVP K-30 as a suitable plasma expander. PVP was not antigenic in the rabbit under all of the conditions of immunization used. Evidence has been presented that the material precipitated by PVP was specific antibody. The estimation of the level of antibody in different individuals at various times indicated a persistence in some volunteers and a disappearance in others.
