Gauge-invariant calculation of theKL-KSmass difference in the left-right model

Abstract

We show that the box diagrams contributing to the $K_L$-$K_S$ mass difference in the left-right-symmetric SU(2${)}_{\mathrm{L}}$×SU${\mathrm{}\left(2\right)\mathrm{}}_R$×U(1) model have to be accompanied by the vertex-correction and self-energy graphs involving flavor-changing neutral Higgs bosons in order to be gauge invariant. Phenomenological implications of this result are discussed.
