Abstract
The pancreozymin-secretin test was performed in 20 patients with Sj5gren''s syndrome. Measurements of volume, maximal bicarbonate concentration and bicarbonate output were made after administration of secretin. Amylase and lipase outputs were measured after the administration of pancreozymin and secretin. Disturbed pancreatic function is often seen in patients with SjOgren''s syndrome. The most frequent findings were a diminished volume of pancreatic secretion and lowered output of bicarbonates after secretin injection. Decreased output of amylase and lipase in the duodenal content was less frequent. The serum amylase response was abnormal in only 3 patients. The disturbed pancreatic function is attributable to the pathologic changes in SjSgren''s syndrome. Keywords
