Abstract
A simple automated determination of cholinesterase activity and inhibition is described. The method is based upon the use of acetylthiocholine as a substrate and dithiobisnitrobenzoic acid as a reagent for thiocholine. A flow diagram for the Technicon Autoanalyzer is presented and inhibition curves for dichlorvos and a carbamate are given as examples. Experiments carried out so far showed the applicability for routine investigations such as comparative 150 determinations of cholinesterase inhibitors and for determinations of certain organophosphorus residues.
