Abstract
The distribution of tritium labeled cortisone in nuclei from rat liver cells has been studied at early times after cortisone administration. While the radioactivity of whole nuclie reaches its maximum within the first half hour and rapidly decreases thereafter, the amount of radioactivity bound to methanol-precitable material increases steadily within the first 6 hours. During the first 3 hours a considerable part of this radioactivity is bound to histones. Tritium labeled testosterone is bound to histones much more slowly and to a much lesser extent. Keywords
