Use of Acrylic Polymers for Marking of Tadpoles (Amphibia, Anura)

Abstract
Acrylic polymers were effective in mark-recapture methods for population studies on tadpoles of Rana catesbeiana. The dyes were injected into the dorsal or ventral fins of tadpoles and the label was retained for 5-6 mo. with no noticeable detrimental effects. Color combinations were used to identify specific individuals.
