Abstract
This paper evaluates current measurements with current transformers under distorted current conditions. Power quality assessment relies on the accurate measurement of current and voltage. Current transformers exhibit a good frequency response under distorted conditions, although this is only valid for a low impedance load on the secondary of the current transformer. The effect of load impedance on the error of measurement for different scenarios are illustrated. Keywords
