Abstract
In rats, the calorigenic action of fat is. approx. doubled by pan-createctomy if the animals are on a fat diet for at least three days. The fat diet does not greatly affect it in normal animals. Since the partially depancreatized rats studied were not undernourished, nutritional condition was not responsible for the results obtained. Large doses of cortical extract depressed the calorigenic action of fat in both normal and depancreatized rats.
