Abstract
A dependence of nonlinear transmission penalty on bit sequence length in pseudolinear transmission is demonstrated and studied. It is shown that, for a realistic dispersion map, bit sequence lengths incorporating tens of thousands of bits or more may become necessary to accurately capture the nonlinear transmission penalty due to intrachannel nonlinear effects, especially at low bit-error ratio (<10/sup -5/).Keywords
