Notes on a New Locality at Ljungsbro in the Lower Ordovician of Östergötland, Southern Sweden

Abstract

A new locality in the Lower Ordovician limestone sequence is reported from Ljungsbro in the county of Östergötland, southern Sweden. An account of the Quaternary deposits and a brief description of the underlying Lower Ordovician limestone are given. A rich and well-preserved macro- and semi-macrofossil fauna is listed and an exquisite phytoplankton flora has been examined.
