Model Calculation of Nuclear Inelastic Effects on High-Energy Lepton Pair Production

Abstract
The contributions to lepton pair production due to single-particle quasielastic nuclear excitations are calculated using the second-quantization technique of Czyz. The nucleus has been approximated as a gas of noninteracting nucleons and the nucleon current has been expanded to terms of the order of q2M2. Numerical results are given for the case of pair production which is symmetric in energy and angles with a purely Coulomb interaction.
