Abstract
The EPR spectra of Gd3+‐doped LaBr3 and La2(SO4)3·9H2O were measured with X band at room, liquid‐nitrogen, and liquid‐helium temperatures. The zero‐field splitting of the gadolinium ion is shown to have no obvious relation with the crystal‐field parameters of the 4f configuration. Keywords
