Abstract
Diets of high school pupils in private and public schools were analyzed for protein, Fe, Ca, vit. A and ascorbic acid. Boys in private schools increased their intake of the first 3 items with increasing age, similar groups in public schools increased that of protein only; girls showed less variation at advancing ages. Most intakes of private school pupils were above the recommended age-specific allowances; public school pupils approximated or fell somewhat below them. Among public school pupils an Italian group received about 40% more vit. A than a similar Jewish group.
