Abstract
12 scales describing the emotional disorders of boys between 6 and 12 are presented. These scales were derived from ratings on the Louisville Behavior Check List (LBCL) by parents of 263 male children. The LBCL contains 163 items but 45 infrequently marked items were dropped in the final analysis. Total pathological score was added to form a 119-variable matrix. This matrix was intercorrelated and rotated by varimax method. Each scale is presented with its factor loading, M, σ, split-half reliability, and T-score equivalents. Discussion mentions the utility of the scales, further research needs, and the use of factor analysis as a method for construction of a nosology for childhood emotional disorders.
