Abstract
The quasiclassical equations for the quasiparticle propagator in superfluid 3He are formulated in the presence of a strong localised potential and solved for an ion in the B phase. The loss in condensation energy occasioned by the ion is calculated and evaluated numerical for a hard-sphere scattering model of the ion. The effects of more general quasiparticle scattering properties are discussed. Keywords
