Abstract
Yeast juices prepared after the method of Lebedev were filtrated through Chamberland filters, thereby obtaining at will active as well as inactive juices by varying the conditions of the filtration. An inoculation of inactive juices by active ones produced a fermentation of inoculated juices, which were then used for inoculation of fresh inactive juices; this was repeated several times. In this way it was proved that the fermentation of the Lebedev-juices can be transferred from juice to juice, thus revealing in a striking way the properties of a biological process.
