Deformation by slip in single crystals of calcium tungstate

Abstract
Plastic deformation of calcium tungstate single crystals has been observed to occur by slip on {100} systems at temperatures in the range 800–1000°c. No plastic deformation has been observed below 800°c. The operation of these slip systems is correlated with the occurrence of low-angle dislocation boundaries parallel to directions in crystals grown from the melt.
