Partition coefficients between various brain tumours and blood for 133Xe

Abstract

Brain-blood partition coefficients for ¹³³Xe were measured on 20 brain tumour specimens. Substantial variations were found from the values previously reported for normal brain, implying that the use of normal values for calculating tumour blood flow from ¹³³Xe washout data can result in significant errors.
