Line width variations in the electron resonance spectra of free radicals in solution

Abstract
In the electron resonance spectra of free radicals in solution the individual hyperfine lines often differ in width. McConnell's theory of this phenomenon is generalized to free radicals in which the axes of the nuclear hyperfine tensors do not coincide with the axes of the g tensor. The result (3.4) is potentially useful for determining the sign of the spin density at a particular sort of nucleus.
