Abstract
Optimal conditional complexes for growth of excised wheat root tips over a 2-week culture period, as determined experimentally, embraced: redistilled water, the salts and salt proportions of Uspenski''s solution, 20 g. dextrose and an extract of 0.1 g. yeast per liter of solution, a final or equilibrium pH about 5.0, a maintained temp. of about 26[degree]-27[degree], continuous electric light, and at least 25 ml. of solution per culture of a single root tip. Mean growth increments up to 19 mm. per day were obtained under these conditions. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
