Abstract
The second quantization of scalar and neutrino fields in the Kerr metric is discussed, and an instability to spontaneous emission is found in the scalar and neutrino cases. The dependence of these results on assumptions about the vacuum state is discussed, as is the semiclassical origin of this creation. Keywords
