Domain Wall Mobility Enhancement Through X-Ray Irradiation Compared With Thermal Annealing

Abstract
Flux‐grown platelets of Sm0.55Tb0.45FeO3, cut perpendicular to the orthorhombic c axis, were irradiated with Mo x rays. Identical platelets were also thermally annealed in O2. Measurements of the room‐temperature domain wall mobility as a function of exposure time or annealing temperature show remarkable similarities as the mobility is first increased 27% and then falls below its initial (as‐grown) value.
