Abstract
Penicillin was given in doses of 20000 to 40000 Oxf. units intraven. or intramusc. to 8 subjects with meningitis. Sixty to 140 mins. later, penicillin was recovered in the spinal fluid in concs. of 0.03 to 0.35 units per ml. Penicillin in adequate amts. may be effective in the treatment of meningitis without supplementary intrathecal therapy. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
