Preparation of Superconducting Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O Printed Thick Films on MgO Substrate and Ag Metal Tape

Abstract
The thick films of Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O(BSCCO) systems have been prepared by a screen printing method on (100) MgO substrates, Ag and some metal tapes. The electrical resistivity and microstructure have been investigated as a function of the postprinting heat treatment. We have succeeded in obtaining a highly oriented thick film with the c-axis perpendicular to the MgO substrate. The film annealed at 885°C for 1 hr followed by annealing at 872°C for 72 hr shows zero resistance Tc(end) of 107 K, which corresponds to the superconducting transition of the high-T c phase in BSCCO materials. By depositing BSCCO thick films on Ag metals tapes, highly oriented films have also been obtained, which have shown zero resistance at 76 K.
