Experiments to produce cutaneous carcinoma by application of tar and, more recently, of the several synthesized carcinogenic compounds and to produce sarcoma by subcutaneous or intramuscular injection of these substances have been repeatedly performed on mice, rats, rabbits and guinea pigs.
