Abstract
Using a sintered‐diamond‐tipped opposed anvil apparatus and a cryogenic clamp press, the electrical resistance behavior of GaSe was investigated. It is found that GaSe becomes metallic for pressures over 250 kbar and superconducting at temperatures around 5 K. The superconducting transition temperature is not very sensitive to the applied pressure: dTc/dP is approximately −0.0018 K/kbar in the pressure range 250–400 kbar. Keywords
