Blood-Group Incompatibility in Rabbit Embryos and in Man

Abstract
Embryos which have inherited from their father agglutinogens incompatible with corresponding immune agglutinins developed and present in their mother''s plasma during gestation show no evidence of this incompatibility. If agglutinins traverse the placenta and enter the blood stream of incompatible foetuses as we have shown to be the case with compatible foetuses, then it is probable that these agglutinins are continuously neutralized by the agglutinogens of the incompatible foetuses at a dilution far below the concentration necessary for producing the true agglutination phenomenon.
