Comparison of Single and Muilti-Hole Bolted Joints in Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastic

Abstract
Data is presented on the strength of single and multi-hole joints in laminated glass fiber reinforced plastic plates bolted to a steel fitting. The laminate lay-up was (—45/0/—45/0°)s. The results suggest that the joint strength, expressed as the load/bolt, decreases as the joint geometry be comes increasingly complex.
