Abstract
The development of a new Zn-low ration in which the vit. source is a liver product extracted with dithizone to remove the zinc is described. Analysis of the whole carcass and of various tissues of Zn-deficient and added Zn-fed (100 [gamma] per day) rats shows, at most, only a slight decrease in the conc. of Zn in the deficient rat tissues. Bone, teeth and blood show the greatest reductions. Pancreatic enzymes (especially the proteinase and amylase) show a lessened activity in the Zn-deficient rats. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
