Depolarization mechanisms for muonium in germanium

Abstract
The depolarization rate λ of normal and anomalous muonium in Ge was studied as a function of temperature and doping. Evidence for three different depolarization mechanisms is presented: (i) exchange interaction with paramagnetic doping atoms (T<20 K); (ii) Korringa scattering of impurity charge carriers (20<T<50 K); and (iii) an intrinsic process, either a chemical reaction or a spin-lattice relaxation (T>50 K).
