A Simple Method of Pulse Height Telemetry for a Balloon-Borne Scintillation Counter

Abstract
A simple method for telemetering the pulse height of a balloon-borne counter is described. Our system consists of a photomultiplier attached to a scintillator, a logarithmic amplifier, a pulse-height-to-time converter and a radio transmitter. The apparatus is operated successfully for a temperature range from -30°C to 30°C and for the pressure less than 10 mmHg.
