The glycolytic mechanisms of brain

Abstract
Glycogen did not inhibit the formation of lactic acid from glucose by brain tissue. The glycolysis resulting when glucose and hexosemonophosphate or hexosedi-phosphate were present depended on each substrate. The same enzyme acted on both glucose and mannose in a mixture. When hexosemonophosphate and hexosedi-phosphate were present together, the results indicated that the same enzyme acts on both.
