Abstract
A novel configuration, which can reduce the number of gates in a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) channel selector, is proposed. A monolithically integrated 64-channel selector is realised with only 16 optical gates. Selecting operation for all 64 channels was confirmed and zero insertion loss was achieved for almost all channels. Keywords
