Abstract
For bandlimited functions, simultaneous approximation of a function and several of its derivatives is considered. Concomitant entropy estimates are obtained. A feasible algorithm for the transmission of information is discussed. This algorithm has been applied to the design of a class of PCM systems.1Keywords
