The Resolution of Racemic Carbohydrate Diastereomers by Gas Chromatography

Abstract
This paper is concerned with the gas chromatographic determination of D and L configuration in carbohydrates. The method used is essentially an extension of the diastereomeric technique which has been successfully applied to amino acids. Peak identity as well as other gas chromatographic parameters such as retention volume (Vg) and partition coefficient (K) are also reported.
