Abstract
A low threshold, voltage-gated calcium current is reported in most cardiac tissues but rarely in ventricular cells. This article reports some recently described characteristics and discusses their possible pathophysiologic implications. It also reviews the alterations induced in this current by a variety of chemical agents including several neuromediators in cardiac and other tissues. Keywords
