60° Sectoral Microstrip Antenna for Dual Polarized Multiband and Wideband Response

Abstract
In this paper fundamental and higher order modes of 60°sectoral microstrip antenna are discussed. A new configuration embedded with slots of 60° sectoral microstrip antenna is proposed for the wideband response with dual polarization. The slots in the patch modify the resonance frequency of higher order modes with respect to fundamental mode frequency which yields bandwidths of around 70MHz and 80MHz at TM 10 and TM 02 mode respectively. Further in second configuration, the truncation of two corners modifies the higher order modes of the patch which yields multiband frequency response with broadside radiation pattern at each band. At each of the multiband frequency around 2% bandwidth is realized. For both wideband and multiband configurations surface currents shows orthogonal variations in the directions which yields dual polarized response.
