Abstract
Adducts of indium(III) chloride, bromide, and iodide have been prepared with 2,2′-bipyridyl, urea, dimethyl sulphoxide, triphenylphosphine oxide, pyridine N-oxide, NN-dimethylacetamide, triphenylphosphine, 1,2-bisdiphenyl-phosphinoethane, and thiourea. Possible factors affecting the stoicheiometry of the adducts are noted. The stability in organic solvents is discussed, and possible dissociation mechanism in these solvents suggested. The triphenylphosphine adducts are readily converted into the corresponding triphenylphosphine oxide compounds in suitable solvents.
