Fluoride Concentrations in Two Pacific Coast Inlets — an Indication of Industrial Contamination

Abstract
A comparative study of fluoride levels in Kitimat Arm and Howe Sound, B.C. has been undertaken. Higher average fluoride concentrations, especially for surface waters in Kitimat Arm, indicate that some contamination due to an aluminum smelter has occurred. A statistical treatment of the data further serves to demonstrate this conclusion.
