RELATIVE THYMOLYTIC ACTIVITIES OF CORTISOL AND PREDNISOLONE DERIVATIVES IN THE ADRENALECTOMIZED RAT

Abstract

A two-day assay using immature male adrenalectomized rats, is described for the determination of thymolytic activity of steroids which has a mean index of precision of 0.26. The relative potencies of 14α-hydroxy, Δ⁶-dehydro, and certain water soluble derivatives of cortisol and prednisolone are reported.
