Adaptation-Level as Frame of Reference for Prediction of Psychophysical Data

Abstract

The study is an extension of the quantitative theory of adaptation level previously formulated for constancy, contrast, and conversion. All measures used to derive the theory are those of direct observation quantitatively treated. Several new facts were deduced from theoretical equations which were tested empirically.
