Receptors for Immunoglobulin on B Lymphocytes and Cells of a Cultured Plasma Cell Tumor

Abstract
Mouse B lymphocytes and cells of a plasma cell tumor bound immune complexes and IgG but not IgA or IgM immunoglobulins or light chains. Binding required an intact Fc piece but was independent of complement. T lymphocytes did not bind immune complexes. The presence of surface receptors for IgG immunoglobulin on B lymphocytes and a plasma cell variant are consistent with the concept of an ancestor-progeny relationship between these cell lines.
