Abstract
To determine whether H. influenzae could be a factor in human atopy, its effects were studied on the parasympathic cyclic[c] nucleotide-histamine axis in rats. H. influenzae vaccination induced changes in the cholinergic system compatible with higher cGMP levels and enhanced histamine release. The cholinergic system may be involved in H. influenzae vaccination effects.
