Survival After Nephrectomy

Abstract

A review of the literature and follow-up investigation of 232 nephrectomized patients prompt the conclusion that the survival rate in persons nephrectomized for a benign renal disorder, and in whom the blood urea and serum creatinine levels are normal, is no poorer than in a normal population—provided that the other kidney is urographically normal.
