Abstract
The concn. of Ca in fecal pellets taken from a specialized part of the large intestine below the sacculated intestine was greater than that in fecal material from the cecum or upper part of the sacculated intestine, particularly if the rabbit had previously received green cabbage in its diet. The outer layer of such pellets contained more Ca and P than the central portion, suggesting that insoluble Ca phos-phate had been deposited on the surface of the formed pellet. These observations are interpreted as proof that excretion of Ca occurs in the large intestine of the rabbit. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
